Patients can request appointments through the Allia Health client app. This feature is only active if you have enabled self-scheduling in your Availability settings.
The Request Workflow
Submission: Patients view your open slots based on the hours you have toggled "On" in your Availability settings. They select a date, time, and type (Telehealth or In-person).
The "Pending" Status: New requests appear as Yellow blocks on your calendar.
Clinician Approval: You can manage requests in two places:
The Calendar: Click the yellow block to accept or decline appointment request.
The Messaging Tab: You will receive a notification here allowing you to approve or decline the request directly from the conversation thread.
Post Approval: If Accepted: The block turns Blue, a confirmation email and push notification are sent to the patient.
Pro Tip: Allia features a "two-way" logic with Google Calendar. Even if your Allia settings say you are "Available," any personal event marked as "Busy" on your external Google calendar will automatically hide those slots from the patient app. You do not need to update both systems.
