You can open DrFirst from Allia to issue a prescription. To document a medication without prescribing it, add a custom prescription instead.
Requirements
Before prescribing, confirm that DrFirst is connected and that you are signed in to your DrFirst account.
Add a prescription through DrFirst
To open the prescribing workflow:
Open the patient's profile.
Open Medical Overview.
Select Open Dr. First Portal.
Allia opens the DrFirst prescribing interface in a new browser tab. Complete medication selection, dosage, pharmacy selection, and signature in DrFirst.
Document a custom prescription
To document a medication without issuing an e-prescription:
Open the patient's Medical Overview.
Open Medications.
Select Add Custom Prescription.
Enter the medication information.
Select Add Prescription.
The medication appears in the table with a Custom Added tag.
Important: A custom prescription documents medication information in Allia and does not replace the DrFirst workflow for issuing an e-prescription.
Authorized users can update custom prescriptions. Only the original creator can delete one.
