Medications Overview: View Patient Allergies, Diagnoses & Medications

Updated over a week ago

The Medical Overview tab lets you view a patient’s clinical history as provided through DrFirst. This information helps you understand the patient’s background and medication profile before prescribing or continuing care.

Accessing the Medical Overview

To open the Medical Overview:

  1. Open the patient’s profile

  2. Select the Medical Overview tab

This tab is only available to users with clinician-level permissions.

What you’ll find in the Medical Overview

The Medical Overview includes three sections that display clinical data retrieved from DrFirst:

Diagnosis (default view)

Shows clinician-reported diagnoses pulled from the patient’s medical history.

Allergies

Lists active allergies recorded in DrFirst, including medication and non-medication allergies when available.

Medications

Shows current and historical medications associated with the patient, including dosage, status, and prescribing details when available.

All information in these sections is read-only.

If DrFirst isn’t connected

Clinicians can still open the Medical Overview tab even when DrFirst isn’t connected. In this case:

• The tab will display an empty state

• You’ll see a prompt to connect your DrFirst account

• No diagnosis, allergy, or medication information will appear until the connection is completed

Once DrFirst is connected, the Medical Overview will automatically populate with the patient’s synced clinical history.
