Bulk uploading patient records

Upload several PDF records to a patient chart at one time and confirm each file was added.

If you are migrating from another EHR or importing historical documentation, you can upload multiple patient records at the same time instead of uploading each file individually.

Bulk uploading makes it easier to transfer existing notes, assessments, referral documents, and other external records into Allia.

Uploading Multiple Records

To upload multiple documents:

  1. Open the Patient Dashboard.

  2. Select the Records tab.

  3. Click Upload Document.

  4. Select multiple PDF files from your computer.

To select multiple files:

  • Windows: Press and hold Ctrl while selecting each file.

  • Mac: Press and hold Command (⌘) while selecting each file.

  1. Click Open.

  2. Click Done to begin the upload.

A confirmation notification appears for each document that uploads successfully.

Upload Requirements

Before uploading multiple files, note the following:

  • Each document must be in PDF format.

  • Each individual file can be up to 50 MB.

  • Uploaded records immediately become part of the patient's record and are available to users with the appropriate permissions.

Best Practices

Bulk upload is recommended when:

  • Migrating patients from another EHR.

  • Importing historical medical records.

  • Uploading multiple laboratory reports.

  • Adding referral documentation or prior assessments.

Using descriptive file names before uploading can make records easier to search later.
